Lucy Liu Says She Once Found Drew Barrymore “Hiding” From An Ex-Boyfriend In Her Bushes

Drew Barrymore reunited with her Charlie’s Angels co-star Lucy Liu on this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, where Liu remembered the time she found the host hiding from an ex-boyfriend in her bushes.

Liu and fellow actress Kiernan Shipka appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show to promote their new movie Red One. But before they could talk about the film, Barrymore did a little reminiscing with Liu.

“I was thinking literally about this time where I came over to your house and I was gonna spend the night because I had just broken up with someone and I was depressed,” Barrymore said.

“But I was like, there’s nothing better in heartbreak than your girlfriends. I don’t know what it is for guys. I hope it’s your guy friends,” she continued. “And you go, ‘Come over, I’m gonna take you for a drink.’”

However, Liu remembered things a little differently.

“I found her hiding in my bushes. She was hiding. She rang the gate and she was hiding. I came out and I was like, ‘I don’t see anyone here,'” Liu explained. “And you kind of came out of the bushes with leaves in your hair and you were like, ‘I don’t want him to see me here.’ I was like, ‘What are you doing?! Get in the house!’”

Barrymore then joked, “Give me a bush, I will hide in it.”

When Liu last guest-starred on The Drew Barrymore Show, she revealed she still had nude photos of Barrymore from the set of Charlie’s Angels.

“I was trying to find the nude photographs you took of me on the set of Charlie’s in my dressing room,” Barrymore said during the March 2023 episode, to which Liu replied, “I have them … You look gorgeous [in the photos] as you still do. And you’re so natural and playful and having a great time.”

Liu added, “I have a series of portraits of so many people. With and without clothes on, guys.”
