According to Jimmy Kimmel, Elon Musk isn’t the only one of the “billionaire tech boys” who has been trying to get into President-elect Donald Trump‘s good graces.
Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that he will be getting rid of fact checkers on Facebook and replacing them with community notes, just as Musk did on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Kimmel called Zuckerberg out for the “suspiciously Trump-friendly announcement,” noting the tech billionaire had already “showed up to debase himself at Mar-A-Lago shortly after the election.”
He also took several shots at Zuckerberg’s interesting new look. “You’re dressed like a molly dealer from Chechnya,” he pointed out.
But Zuckerberg’s announcement did not end there. “We’re going to simplify our content policies and get rid of a bunch of restrictions on topics like immigration and gender that are out of touch with mainstream discourse,” the Meta boss said in a video statement. “Finally, we’re going to work with President Trump to push back on governments around the world that are going after American companies and pushing to censor more.”
After playing the message, Kimmel demanded, “What did Trump do to this woman?! What has happened? Imagine being one of the wealthiest people in the world and making the decision to announce the end of truth as we know it, while dressed as Macklemore in 2014.”
He did not hold back as he continued slamming the tech CEO for pandering to Trump’s interests so blatantly.
“We call it the ol’ suck and Zuck,” Kimmel joked.
The late night host called Zuckerberg’s announcement “embarrassing” and said he couldn’t “decide which part is worse.”
“Mark Zuckerberg just flushing whatever dignity he had down Trump’s golden toilet, or the fact that he’s transitioning into one of the Golden Girls,” he added.
Kimmel’s ire for Zuckerberg comes as no surprise. The late night host had just spent quite a bit of his monologue delighting in the recent reports that Trump has begun “complaining” about having Musk around too often.
“They say Elon just walks in and joins any meeting whether or not he’s invited to them. He’s Trump’s Kramer! Just bursting through the door,” Kimmel joked.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
