Netflix is already getting buzz for several of its new releases this week, including the latest from Ryan Murphy, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. (The platform is releasing the star-studded film His Three Daughters, and the Zack Snyder series Twilight of the Gods on top of that.) On Hulu, you can catch the ABC News true crime docu-series Little Miss Innocent, and on Max, Colin Farrell returns as the title character in The Penguin.

New Movies & Shows To Stream This Weekend: Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, The Penguin, Little Miss Innocent + more
Ryan Murphy started his Monster franchise with a dramatic interpretation of the life of Jeffrey Dahmer, and now he’s giving the Menendez brothers the same treatment in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, which arrives on Netflix this week. For even more true crime, you can check out Little Miss Innocent on Hulu, which traces the story of Kaitlyn Conley, a woman convicted of poisoning her ex-boyfriend’s mother, but who maintains her innocence and is fighting for her freedom from prison. If organized crime is more your thing, The Penguin arrives on Max this week. The series starring Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb, one of Gotham City’s most notorious villains also co-stars Cristin Milioti.
New on Netflix September 19: Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story
Ryan Murphy is putting his spin on one of the most notorious crimes of the past several decades in the new Netflix series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, which drops this week. The story of the California brothers convicted of murdering their parents (played here by Chloe Sevigny and Javier Bardem) has been grist for the mill since 1989, and the new series tackles the events before and after the killings from all angles.
New on Max September 19: The Penguin
The Penguin, which is based off the character Colin Farrell originated in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, co-stars Farrell and Cristin Milioti who plays rival gangster Sofia Falcone. The show premiered Thursday night, but it will re-air over the weekend, and subsequent new episodes will air weekly on Sundays on HBO and Max.
New on Hulu September 20: Little Miss Innocent: Passion. Poison. Prison.
The new Hulu docu-series Little Miss Innocent: Passion. Poison. Prison., produced by ABC News, is the story of Kaitlyn Conley, a woman convicted of killing the mother of her ex-boyfriend. Over the course of the show, Conley, interviewed from prison, attempts to clear her name and offer alternative theories regarding the woman’s killing in 2015.
