From the campy, creepy horror of Smile 2 to the action-thriller Armor, there’s plenty of pulse-pounding fun that’s new on VOD this week.
There’s also the remake of Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead arriving this week. While the 1991 original starred Christina Applegate, the new version stars Simone Joy as the big sister tasked with watching over her siblings when their elderly babysitter dies. Nicole Richie appears as Rose, an iconic bit of casting if you know the pop-cultural importance of the the line, “I’m right on top of that, Rose!”
These are just a few of the films that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now.
Armor
Armored-truck security guard James (Jason Patric) is struggling with alcoholism and a strained relationship with his son Casey (Josh Wiggins) when the two are tasked with a mysterious delivery in Armor, which is out now on VOD. When they’re ambushed by a gang of thieves led by the criminal mastermind Rook (Sylvester Stallone), the truck dangles from a collapsing bridge, meaning the duo has to work fast and smart to outwit their assailants.
Smile 2
Writer-director Parker Finn follows up his 2022 horror hit with a sequel centered on Skye Riley (Naomi Scott), a pop star restarting her career after a tragic car crash and a stint in drug rehab. Thanks to the Smile Entity, her comeback is short-lived when she’s put through a punishing gauntlet of horrors that cause her world to distort and her turn her life into a waking nightmare.
