BritBox fans have plenty to look forward to in the new year.
The British streamer dropped its 2025 slate on Thursday, along with a sizzle reel that gives viewers a first look at returning hit series such as Vera Season 14 and Karen Pirie Season 2, as well as new star-studded series.
Per a press release, Hugh Bonneville and Karen Gillan star in Douglas is Cancelled, described as “a timely series about gender politics and trial by social media” that arrives on the streamer on March 6. The comedy drama follows Doulgas Bellowes (Bonneville), whose “life implodes after a tweet about him allegedly making a sexist joke goes viral.”
Meanwhile Matthew Rhys, Anjelica Huston, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Ella Lily Hyland lead Agatha Christie’s Towards Zero, a series set in 1936 England that debuts next spring.
Not only does next year bring exciting additions to the streaming service’s library, but the rest of 2024 is rounded out by new crime dramas Joan and The Jetty, as well as Shetland Season 9 and several holiday and Christmas specials.
