From reality shows like Netflix’s Selling The City to the return of the eerie drama The Rig, there’s plenty of great stuff to watch this weekend. New Movies & Shows To Stream This Weekend: Selling The City, The Golden Globes, The Rig + More
This week’s big releases include a new cast of high-end real estate agents selling insane apartments to the filthy rich in Selling The City, and a new season of the Prime Video thriller The Rig. Plus, don’t forget to tune in to the 82nd Annual Golden Globes this Sunday night on Paramount+!
New on Netflix January 3: Selling The City
Netflix’s latest real estate soap opera, Selling The City, arrives this week, and in case you couldn’t tell, it’s from the same folks that gave us Selling The OC and Selling Sunset. This East Coast version is free of Oppenheims, however, and focuses on an agent named Eleonora and the glamorous and occasionally dysfunctional team she has assembled to sell luxury real estate in New York.
New on Paramount+ with Showtime January 5: The Golden Globes
Nikki Glaser hosts this year’s Golden Globe Awards which will be airing on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime on Sunday night. If her opening monologue is anything like her roast of Tom Brady, no one in Hollywood will escape unscathed. (But will she be as funny as Best Television Series – Comedy nominee The Bear?) Tune in when the 82nd Annual Golden Globes begin at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, Jan. 5.
New on Prime Video January 2: The Rig (Season 2)
Prime Video’s The Rig, about the crew of a remote Scottish oil rig who are terrorized by a mysterious, supernatural fog that envelopes them at sea, returns for another season this week. Starring Martin Compston, Schitts’ Creek star Emily Hampshire and Game of Thrones‘ Iain Glen, the second season binge-dropped this week.
