Kraven the Hunter is coming to digital platforms, one month after the movie bombed in theaters.
Directed by J.C. Chandor, and starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Kraven the Hunter is yet another Sony-made Marvel movie about a lesser-known character in the Spider-Man universe, which was made just so Sony could keep its Spider-Man license. Capitalism breeds innovation, or something.
For the uninitiated, Kraven (played by Taylor-Johnson) is a super villain in the Spider-Man comics. This movie tells Kraven’s origin story. As a child, he was mauled by a lion, and given a healing serum that imbued him with animalistic tendencies. For a while, he tries to use his powers for good. But as fans of Wicked know, no good deed goes unpunished.
Like many of Sony’s Marvel films, Kraven the Hunter was panned by critics and bombed at the box office, making less than $60 million at the worldwide box office, compared to a reported production budget of $110 million. Perhaps the movie will fare better in the home entertainment market.
But before you spend $25 to watch the Kraven the Hunter movie on digital, you should know that Kraven the Hunter will likely be streaming on Netflix in a few month’s time.

Beginning on Tuesday, January 14 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time (which is also Monday, January 13 at 9 p.m. Pacific Time) Kraven the Hunter will be available to buy and rent digitally on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Vudu, and more.

How to watch the Kraven the Hunter movie on streaming:
Kraven the Hunter is not currently streaming free on any of the subscription-based streaming services. However, if you don’t want to pay to buy or rent the movie, we do expect to see Kraven the Hunter streaming on Netflix in the near future.
When will Kraven the Hunter movie be streaming free on Netflix?
Kraven the Hunter will likely be on Netflix in the next few months. Netflix has a deal with Sony Pictures that gives the streamer the rights to the Sony movies in the “Pay 1” window, meaning the first streaming window after the film’s home media release. Other recent Sony movies, including Harold and the Purple Crayon and It Ends With Us, came to Netflix about four months after opening in theaters.
If Kraven the Hunter follows this same release pattern, you can expect Kraven the Hunter to stream on Netflix around April 2025, aka four months after the movie opened in theaters in December 2024. It will be free to stream for anyone with a Netflix subscription.
In the meantime, you can watch the Kraven the Hunter movie online by buying or renting the movie on digital platforms.
